Misc : 9 Soundware Releases String Sculpture Presets - macmusicString by 9 Soundware is a collection of presets for the Sculpture synthesizer within Apple Logic Pro. Harnessing the complex, yet powerful, architecture of the instrument, these sounds explore the possibilities offered by the fusion of naturalistic digital synthesis and highly flexible modulation tools.

The 150 sounds are organized in two main groups. The "Abstract" group, which consists of 120 sounds, features two categories, "Inharmonic" and "Tuned", both of which contain subcategories "Sustaining" and "Non-sustaining". The "Simulations" group features 30 sounds that draw on Sculpture's unique capabilities to emulate musical instruments.

Sculpture's extraordinary capabilities allow for a range of sounds typically not possible to achieve with a single instrument. Examples include extremely interactive presets (e.g., What is this?.pst, 3D.pst, and Hysteria Lead.pst), tempo synced textures (e.g., Sustained Grey.pst, which features an 8 bar modulation cycle), renderings of found objects (e.g., Lightning Strike.pst, Metal Spring.pst, Cordless Drill.pst, PA Feedback.pst, and Ice Cubes.pst), and sounds ranging from delicate (e.g., Jellyfish.pst, and Twang.pst) to aggressive (e.g., Poltergeist.pst, X-acto Knife.pst). The "Simulations" category includes models of musical instruments such as kick drums, hammered dulcimers, harmonicas, toy pianos, and violins.

The 2 MB download includes 150 .pst files.

String is available now for $29.99.
