No, we're not talking about 15,000 years in existence, nor the $15,000 the webmaster has stashed in his pockets with Active Member dues, but the fact that MacMusic membership has reached 15,000 people! This represents great news, demonstrating our ability to entice more and more people to join the best Mac and Music lovers' community.

For those of you that don't realize just how significant this milestone is, we shall provide a few comparisons:
- 15,000 is equal to the global population of Indian elephants, or the number of homeless people in San Diego. (sad, no?)
- 15,000 is equal to the number of miles it would take to travel between L.A. and San Francisco 40 times (or L.A. and New York 5 and a half times).
- Altogether, we have 112 miles of cables.
- We could have formed 3,000 basketball teams, 2,000 soccer (sorry, football) teams, or 3,750 bobsled teams.
- The cumulative age of all MacMusicians (not including our member Messensib) is 550,000 years.
- Joining all our brain resources would give us an IQ score of 147,000.
- The weight of our entire community would be the same as more than 14 million cans of Spam (or other potted meat product).
- At our current membership rate, we will have 49,058,000 members by the year 2657.
- We have already experienced 783,000 bugs and various music questions, and among these, 647,000 have been resolved thanks to MacMusic.
- We still need more active members in order to carry on (2,657 in total, if you count the seventh generation of our children).

It is all quite puzzling!
