Tfpro, home of ted Fletcher, the "infamous" mind behind the green things marketed as Joemeek until recently, and after a small batch of red painting, is coming back with an Edward. Edward the Compressor precisely. P8 for the ones in the know.

Edward the Compressor is a multitalented "classic" comp. The method used is as you can imagine optical but the guts of the red thing hide in fact not a multipurpose comp, but 4 types of different circuits of compression. You select the one you need.

Circuits are:
- VCA (gradual, transparent)
-"1176", well they did it again ;) (fast attack, accuracy, multistage release)
-"LA2A", hey I saw that elsewhere ;) (light diode and cadmium sulphide opto-resistor, shaping of attack and release, slow)
-"Green box" well do you really need to know? could be a "SC2" (stereo imaging, coloured)

As in the SC2 in his time, ac hannel go thru a sum and difference circuit to respect stereo, a width control can widening it even more if you want it to. Controls for compression include Threshold, Type (well you know that already), Slope/Ration (1,5:1 to 8:1), Attack, Transient release (recovery time for the compression sidechain, work with SC2 only), Release. The controls have not the same range regarding the selected Type used.
