Computer Hardware : UA-700, the guitarist interface - macmusicEdirol Corporation also announced the release of their latest audio capture device, the UA-700. The UA-700, aka "The Everything Box", demonstrates a breakthrough in USB audio by coupling 24bit/96 kHz processing with high-end Mic/Guitar-Amp modeling, all in the same device. It is a complete input/output solution for both Audio and MIDI via USB. It is ideal for home recording musicians who do not wish to compromise quality. At the same time it can be used as a standalone A/D converter or as an effects box for the performer. The UA-700 has a suggested retail price of $595.

The main features of the UA-700 include:
• Guitar amp modeling/Mic modeling (Roland's COSM technology)/System effects including Amp modeling, Delay, Tremolo, Flanger, Phaser, Compressor, Mic modeling, Preset type compression, De-esser, 3-band EQ (high/mid/low), Noise gate, Reverb, Chorus.
• Versatile Input and Output ports:
 - Two combo inputs, XLR/phones, +48v phantom power for condenser mic
 - Input for guitar
 - RCA Line/phono input and RCA output
 - Optical/coaxial S/Pdif input & output
• 24bit/96kHz Audio Interface
• Low latency with Direct Monitoring function
• MIDI In/Out
• ASIO 2.0 (Win/Mac), WDM (Win2K/XP), and Apple Sound Manager compatibility
