Percussa AudioCubes

Monday April 23, 2007. 01:12 PM, by Nantho Computer Hardware > Percussa
Computer Hardware : Percussa AudioCubes - macmusicPercussa unveils AudioCubes, a new musical interface for controlling music/audio software and MIDI gear.

The AudioCubes are a collection of cubes capable of detecting each other's position and orientation, and of displaying full RGB colours (4096 combinations!). They generate two types of information: triggers and continuous controllers, which can be sent to any MIDI compatible software or device. The location and orientation of a cube generates different trigger info (for example, cube on the left = drums, cube on the right = synth bass, etc). On top of that, you can use your hand with a cube (or 2 cubes) and send distance to any MIDI controller, for adjusting filter cutoff, etc. MIDI Controllers can also be sent to the cubes to display colour patterns synchronized to your music. For Max/MSP users, there is an external included which can be used to create your own user interfaces or software to work with the cubes. Last but not least, all you circuit benders and DSP hackers can use it as a lo-fi sound generator/processor too!

Each set of cubes comes with :

- Nice black designer box and wrapper
- Silver USB cable
- 4 audiocubes with USB connections, built-in rechargeable batteries and chargers
- CD with Ableton Live Demo, Percussa Software for Mac OSX (10.4 or later) and MAX/MSP patches, Loopmasters Samples, User's Manual
- AudioCube Pins (Buttons)
- Quickstart

Percussa AudioCubes are available now for a fee of $799/€599. For more information, please visit their web site.
