Music Hardware : Clavia back on the Stage, with a bit of Electro - macmusicThe red sweden synths maker Clavia announced the Nord Stage 76, a 76 medium weighted keys version of their synth/piano instrument in a smaller form than the 88 flagship. Price TBA. Along this new Stage of affairs… Clavia gave hints of the forthcoming Stage OS 2.0:

- New Piano sounds, A Yamaha C7 in a 64 MB library (with more velocity layers) and a Steinway (closed miced) are added.
- Enhanced sustain function, for realistic damping on release.
- 2 more reverbs in the vintage spring kind.
- Delay effect with glitch free operation on tap tempo.
- Improved analog waveforms.
- The classical two voice unison is now included in the synth unison.
- Octave shifting of instruments are larger.
- Audio routing can be saved with programs now

On the Nord Electro side, OS will jump to 2.3. It'll include the two new grand pianos, Yamaha C7 and Steinway D close. Coming from the Nord Stage 2.0 library, the samples have been adjusted to fit into the Electros memory, excluded are release and pedal down samples as well as some of the velocity layers. It'll be nice improvement for the red piano addicts.
