Apple to launch 30 inch flat-panel displays

According to ThinkSecret.com, Apple have clearly decided bigger is better with a shake up to their range of TFT displays. The new displays should come in three variants, 20", 23" and a whopping 30". With resolutions being 1680 x 1050, 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600 respectively. In what some might see as a bold move all the displays will exclusively use a digital visual interface (DVI). On the plus side dropping the Apple Display Connector (ADC) offers powerpook and more importantly Windows users a slightly cheaper way to invest, while on the down side it introduces the need for a somewhat hefty PSU. The 30" model gobbles down a rather lardy 150 watts and its rumoured this is one of the binding factors that forced apple to make the switch to DVI.
Perhaps unsurprisingly the displays are set to look 'dead sexy' with all 3 models being a mere 1" thick and finished in a brushed aluminium effect.
It is rumoured that apple want a release date prior to this months Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June 28th, if this rings true we could see substantial price cuts on the existing range as inventory is cleared.
Pricing is somewhat vague at present, but expect the 20" model to ship for sub $1000 USD.
