MAGMA's 2- and 4-Slot CardBus-to-PCI Expansion solutions have received official approval by Digidesign for use with Pro Tools|HD.
According to Digidesign's tests, the Pro Tools|HD system running Pro Tools 5.3.1 software supports up to 48 tracks of record and playback. Track count is based on tests using 24-bit/96kHz audio. Track count will increase as bit/sample rates and edit densities decrease. Results were achieved using an Apple Titanium (550, 667, or 800 MHz) PowerBook G4 with 256MB RAM running OS 9.2.2; the MAGMA Series 2-Slot and 4-Slot CardBus chassis (Model #'s CB2, CB2S, and CB4DRQ-D1); and four DigiDrive FireWire drives.
MAGMA are exhibiting their portable Pro Tools|HD solutions at AES booth 1253.
