Logic Platinium for OSX
Tuesday September 3, 2002. 03:23 PM | Music Software > Emagic |
The first version of Logic Platinum for OS X is coming out. It will allow the users to use a single software package combining digital audio recording and editing, digital signal processing, software instruments, MIDI sequencing and music notation, on a next generation operating system.
OS X also contains the foundation for a new generation of potent music and audio applications. Many technologies necessary for such applications are already built-in, such as the "CoreMIDI", "CoreAudio", "Audio Units" standards, as well as support for high-resolution audio including 32 Bit floating-point data.
As a result, applications, 3rd party plug-ins and dedicated hardware can be simply and freely combined between different manufacturers to work together in a standardized way. From the very beginning, the new driver concepts for MIDI, Audio, DSP and software instruments have been optimized for performance, superior timing and low latency. You can play software instruments in real-time with an ultra-low latency that can rival or even outperform specialized hardware.
