Self-confessed synth freak and world-renowned sound designer Rob Papen knows a thing or two about creating the sounds that people want to hear. He’s even published an informative instructional book/DVD set based on his subtractive synthesis masterclasses called The 4 Element Synth — perfectly pitched for the long-running analogue revival, but is best known for his namesake software company, dedicated to producing its trademark Inspiration Soundware.
Several years after its inception, Rob Papen, the company, collectively has 11 superlative software products to its well-known name: Blade (representing the cutting-edge of today’s synthesizers), BLUE-II (so-called ‘Crossfusion synthesis’ since it covers so much musical ground so effectively), Predator (‘phat’ analogue synth with killer presets and first-class features), Punch (speaker-busting, body-rattling drum machine), SubBoomBass (ultra-deep bass synth with built-in step sequencer), RG (electric and acoustic guitar grooves with sequencer and synth effects), RP-AMOD (modulation effects to spice up vocal tracks, enliven instruments, or even beef up drums and loops), RP-Delay (with six delay lines, eight filters, four LFOs, reverser, and more), RP-Distort (for distorting and dramatically altering tracks), and RP-Verb (advanced, transparent, and musical algorithm reverb).
Price: 699$.

Apr 10 - 02:26 AM | Virtual Instrument > Detunized.com |
Detunized has released Digital Domain - a set of three new multi-format libraries.
Binaries - a collection of FM sounds taken from a vintage ISA soundboard.
Each Binaries patch is made of several velocity layers that reproduce the authentic sound of an 4 Operator OPL3 FM chip and brings you an unique mixture of pristine FM clarity and dusty Digital to Analog conversion.
Phase Facets - a library based on the Interactive Phase Distortion principle.
IPD synthesis was meant as an effort to simplify sound programming compared to calssic FM and it is capable of producing bright and lively tunes with sharp attacks and digital precision.
Phase Facets Universal delivers 31 multi-format patches that trigger "filter-less" and "non-substractive" sounds with rich harmonic content and agile brightness.
fTable - an enormous collection of synthesized waveforms that were created on a Hohner HS1E sampler. All sets of waveforms use the additive and hand drawing capabilities of this unit.
The samples are recorded through the samplers proprietary 16 Bit DAC that is a little harsh but also gives unique colorization to the sounds.
Each library supports samples and players that read these formats:
SFZ (Ploque Sforzando, Cakewalk SFZ player, Directwave and many more)
NKI (NI Kontakt)
SXT (Reason Sampler)
EXS (Logic Sampler)
FXP (Halion Sampler.

Not all science fiction envisions either the future or the vast depths of uncharted space as just a vast playground of wondrous beauty, while back home exists a near perfect earth based utopian society where all problems have been solved and all humanity now lives in harmony.
Instead, some sci-fi future visions of the future are darker, bleaker, and these visions of deep space likewise show that not all exploration might be just fun and games – a future might perhaps be more like that of Prometheus, Terminator, or Blade Runner, than of Star Trek- to use a cinematic metaphor. While The Resonant Drop does contain some pretty and shimmering deep space ambiences, it is mostly intended for that more disconcerting, cyberpunk, perhaps even downright scary future-vision.
