Computer Hardware : RME Fireface UFX – USB Direct Recording - macmusicThe UFX features an integrated recorder for all inputs and outputs directly to USB memory devices at up to 2 TB.
Live concerts, band rehearsals or spontaneous jam sessions can be recorded and played from the medium. Individual channels can be chosen for recording and the playback afterwards.

The UFX also plays back standard wav files that had been copied to the USB memory externally. For all this to work comfortably and safe the Recorder has been integrated not only into the unit, but also as addition into TotalMix FX.

Virtual Instrument : Waldorf launches Lector software - macmusicRobot voices, whispering strings, talking drum loops, rhythmic pads, the resonant ringing of bells, dripping water - the possibilities are all but infinite. With a quick tweak here and there, the Lector turns any incoming signal into novel sounds and effects.

The analysis filter bank splits the incoming audio signal into as many as 100 frequency bands, the intensity of which modulates the volume levels of an equal number of band-pass filters in the synthesis filter bank. The integrated 16-voice synthesizer or an external source provides the input signal for the synthesis filter bank.
