Spectrasonics has released Stylus RMX(r) version 1.9, the company's first 64-bit native Mac software.
The new version of the famous groove software is now compatible with Apple's recently released 'Snow Leopard' 64 bit operating system and the emerging 64-bit native host applications for music production on the OS X platform. Since native Windows 64-bit compatibility has been available since version 1.7, Stylus RMX is now fully cross-platform 64-bit native software and is also compatible with 32-bit Mac and Windows systems and hosts. The new 1.9 version also includes various technical fixes and compatibility updates with other recent software releases such as Apple's Logic 9.
Stylus RMX v1.9 is a free download for all registered users of Stylus RMX and is available now from the Spectrasonics website.

Plughugger unveils Large Bass Expander, a new soundset for Waldorf's Largo synthesizer.
Large Bass Expander is a collection of 128 bass sounds where the focus lies on modern dance music, rather than classic analogue reproductions. The download package contains the soundset as an FXB bank as well as all sounds in FXP preset format.

Ableton has updated Live 8 and Ableton Suite 8 to version 8.0.5.
Improvements :
• Updated manuals.
• Updated Help Pages.
• When using the APC40 Controller surface script, we check if the selection MIDI ports are the one from the APC40.
• Improved graphic performance when using Live on Windows 7 RC 1.
On Mac OS X, Cocoa support for Audio Units.
• Having an unfolded Live set file in the browser, now the tracks from that Live set can be inserted into the current set by double clicking too. In earlier versions it was only possible via drag'n'drop.
• Controller surface support for the AKAI MPD-18, MPK-25, MPK-61 and MPK-88 controllers.
• Controller surface support for OpenLabs devices.
