Telefunken Elektroakustik is introducing at Summer NAMM 2010 the new MkII version of the R-F-T AK-47, one of the company's most popular and affordable microphones. Featuring a dual-sided, gold-sputtered capsule and a NOS (New Old Stock) TELEFUNKEN EF-732 vacuum tube, the new AK-47 MkII includes a transformer upgrade to the historic BV8 found in the U-47 and U-48 microphone classics of the past.
Telefunken has conducted extensive research in the historic design and transformer-manufacturing source for their BV8 output transformers. These BV8 transformers are then meticulously manufactured to these exacting historic specifications dictated by Telefunken's extensive library of historic technical documents.

In response to the widely publicized complaints from TV viewers and broadcasters of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Waves and Prosoniq unveiled their own solutions to dramatically reduces the problematic sound of the omnipresent Vuvuzela trumpet favored by South African soccer fans.
Preset processing chain from Waves
Working in conjunction with a major television broadcaster, they've precision-crafted a preset processing chain which drastically decreases Vuvuzela noise: The WNS Waves Noise Suppressor and the Q10 Paragraphic Equalizer. Together, they not only minimize Vuvuzela noise, they increase the intelligibility of the game announcers' play-by-play action and color commentary. The processing chain for Vuvuzela noise reduction is now available as load-and-use sessions for Pro Tools, Waves MultiRack, and Cubase.
Prosoniq VuvuX 1.51 plug-in
Prosoniq announced the world's first realtime Vuvuzela filtering plug in based on sonicWORX' audio de-mixing technology. This technology allows separating components without using aggressive notch filters, leaving the background unaltered. VuvuX is a free AudioUnit plug in that suppresses the noise created by the South African trumpet called "Vuvuzela" in realtime without affecting the audio commentary or the stadium atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a noise-free World Cup 2010.
