Propellerhead today unveils its brand new software, Record, which combines effortless recording and a stunning software mixer console with a limitless rack of audio processing gear that builds itself or can be infinitely customized.
Built for independent minded musicians, Record is supposed to have the feel of a million dollar recording studio with the streamlined simplicity of a tape deck. For guitar players, the built-in virtual POD® from Line 6 brings a wide range of top quality guitar amps and cabinets. Record's software mixer's sound is faithfully modeled after the renowned SSL® 9000K hardware with flexible routing, full dynamics, EQ, advanced effects handling and complete automation. With its state-of-the-art dynamic multicore audio handling, Record uses a computer's processing power to its fullest.
Users will never have worry about track counts, latency issues or adding that extra reverb or effect. With an easy to grasp interface, it won't get in the way of ideas and will inspire users to make more music.
The bad news is that no third-party plug-ins seems to be supported, but it can be ReWired. As with Reason, Record is a "closed system" but that allows the code to be very CPU efficient.
Record begins beta testing today and will be available for purchase worldwide on September 9, 2009. Record will be available through all Propellerhead dealers worldwide at a suggested retail price of $299 / €299 ($149 for registered Reason owners).

OscVstBridge is a free VST plug-in that bridges VST data to the Open Sound Control [OSC] network domain.
VST plug-ins typically have parameters that are controllable by the user. These parameters appear as the knobs and sliders or as MIDI CC. By using OscVstBridge you can control via your MIDI controller or VST sequencer OSC devices that are networked to the controlling computer. Similarly OSC controllers can send messages to OscVstBridge that will convert it to VST parameter or MIDI data.
OscVstBridge uses jVSTwRapper a wrapper that enables VST plugin development using JAVA. OscVstBridge also uses the NetUtil OSC library in JAVA.
OscVstBridge is available for free at :

Atmospheric Pressure by 9 Soundware is a set of instruments for the EXS24 sampler within Apple Logic Pro. The theme of the sound set is atmospheric pressure, which is portrayed as sounds of wind-like ambience, undersea activity, various air masses, crashing implosions, and ear-tearing altitude shift.
The instruments are based on 50 samples (30 loops, 16 one-shot events, and 4 hits). The source sounds for the samples include underwater recordings, noise, and performed effects processing. The samples, 1 to 28 seconds in length, include organic noise-based textures, synthetic loops, crescendoing one-shot events, and sustaining impacts.
In addition to the 174 MB AtmosphericPressure.exs instrument which uses all 50 samples, included are 20 instruments which make extensive use of the modulation capabilities of the EXS24 mkII sampler. Among them are tempo synced instruments, free-form textural instruments, impact instruments, as well as ambience instruments that can trigger contrasting samples using MIDI message cc#1 (Ear-tearing Shift.exs), and tuned noise instruments (Torr.exs). Many are designed to be played primarily with the modulation and pitch bend wheels (and less so with the keys). As they lend themselves more to performance than step sequencing, a midi controller is highly recommended when using this sound set.
The 175 MB download includes 21 .EXS files and 50 WAV files (24-bit/44.1 kHz).
