KRK Systems has just launched an updated version of its 10" recording subwoofer. The new KRK10s incorporates a sleek industrial design that matches the company's recently launched RokitG2 monitors, as well as significant feature enhancements.
The industrial design of the KRK10s leverages KRK's research and development into baffle design and fabrication. The subwoofer's curved front matches the Rokit and VXT monitors' diffraction reducing shape. It is also a great addition to other active or passive monitor setups, thanks to its integrated, adjustable crossover and numerous back-panel connection options.
Additionally, updated electronics include a ground-lift switch for combating less than perfect electrical and audio grounding and a bypass footswitch that allows the subwoofer and crossover to be easily enabled and disabled. The bypass footswitch allows users to easily switch a mix from stereo or 2.1/5.1 sound environments. Improved amplifier heat sinking results in lower distortion at high power levels and the KRK10s has a lower noise floor than its predecessor.
The KRK10s replaces the existing RP10s subwoofer. The new KRK10s is priced at $399, and is available now at leading music retailers around the world.

Aug 21 - 12:16 PM | Plug-ins > Artificial Audio |
Artificial Audio unveils Obelisk, a new spectral multi-effect that combines a Spectral Delay, a Spectral Filter and a Spectral Gate together with a Spectrum Analyzer and 2-Dimensional LFOs to modulate the effect settings.
Obelisk separates the incoming audio signal into frequency bands. Each frequency band has its own Delay with Feedback, its own Filter and its own Gate. By simply drawing "effect lines" into the Analyzer Point View, hundreds of parameters can be controlled very easily and intuitively. Obelisk has three 2-Dimensional LFOs to modulate the effect parameters in ever changing and totally new ways.
Obelisk will be available in September 2008 for Mac OS X in VST and AU plug-in formats at a price of €99.
