Let me introduce you to Breverb, a high quality reverberation plug-in for Mac and PC which features four different algorithms modeled after several popular and very classic hardware units.
"Breverb claims to model some of the industry's most acclaimed classic reverb hardware, and though they do not mention what exact devices they are I doubt I would be far off the mark to say that the name Lexicon would be right at the top of the list. In fact the sounds remind me very much of Lexicon's now defunct Lexiverb but without the heavy CPU hit that made it available only for digidesign TDM users – certainly not the case for Breverb."

Tascam unveils the TM-ST1 which is a stereo microphone with stereo pattern switching. The recordist can select between 90 and 120 degree pickup to capture more ambience or to reduce background noise. The mid-side design captures a wide stereo field while maintaining a solid center image.
It employs a back-electret condenser capsule for crisp response with a long battery life. The output cable terminates to a 3.5mm stereo jack for use with recorders like Tascam's DR-1. Also included with the microphone are a tabletop stand, wind screen and mic stand clip.
The TM-ST1 is available now at a retail price of $99.

MOTU has finally released Digital Performer 6 which is a a major upgrade to the company's flagship digital audio sequencer. DP 6 features a redesigned user interface, which includes the ability to zoom in the Track window.
Two new signal processing plug-ins are included: Pro Verb, a convolution reverb that MOTU says is very CPU efficient, and Masterworks Leveler, a dynamics processor that models the classic LA-2A. A new, and very flexible track comping feature is also included. It gives you plenty of control for comping takes, and it even lets you comp your comps.
DP 6 will also include support for Broadcast WAV files, which means your sequence's audio files no longer need to be in Sound Designer II format. Also included is support for Final Cut Pro XML files, allowing you easily edit your video's audio track in DP. Another key addition is the ability to burn CDs directly from DP.

Mackie adds 2 ultra-compact models to its VLZ3 Series mixers with the release of the 402-VLZ3 and the 802-VLZ3 Premium Mic/Line Mixers.
Incorporating the same technology as their big brothers in the series, the 402-VLZ3 and 802-VLZ3 feature the studio-grade XDR2 (Extended Dynamic Range) mic preamps, proprietary Active EQ, and modern summing bus architecture to ensure high-headroom, low-noise performance. The impressive ultra-compact, rugged, all-steel chassis houses switchable line/Hi-Z instrument inputs, phantom power for use with condenser microphones, and bright stereo LED meters.
The 402-VLZ3 features 2 mono mic/line channels, a dedicated stereo line channel and an assignable stereo RCA input channel. Mono channels each include an XDR2 preamp, switchable high-pass filter, 2-band EQ and a channel overload LED, and can be hard-panned for stereo applications.
The 802-VLZ3 includes 5 channel strips with 3 XDR2 mic preamps, the Alt 3-4 bus, a pre-/post-switchable aux send, a dedicated stereo aux return, plus a comprehensive control room section.
The 402-VLZ3 and 802-VLZ3 are now available world-wide. The 402-VLZ3 has a U.S. MSRP of $129.99. The 802-VLZ3 has a U.S. MSRP of $259.99.
