Misc : DP or Logic Pro 8? - macmusicHere is the January 10th, 2008 issue of DP Corner from audioMIDI.com. A column
for tips, tricks, and other fun stuff related to Digital Performer. Written
by Tim Rumbaugh.

DP or Logic Pro 8? Why Not Both? Picking a DAW is one of the most personal
decisions a computer-based musician can make. Read through the forum for
any DAW and you'll see that most musicians are absolutely set in their ways
as a user of "the one and only DAW" and all other musicians should be whipped
a thousand times with a wet noodle for even contemplating using another.
This week Tim will look at ways to incorporate the best features of Logic
Pro 8 with DP, giving you the best of both worlds.

Audio Hardware : What a joint venture ! - macmusicSE Electronics have announced that they are producing a brand new range of Rupert Neve signature series mics under the sE stable for 2008.
(picture is Rupert Neve and Siwei Zou)

The first of several mics will be an active Ribbon mic with revolutionary performance, provided by discrete circuits and purpose designed transformers by Mr. Rupert Neve.
The capsule and manufacturing are being controlled by sE, whilst the electronics, and of course the transformer, are being taken care of by Mr. Neve.

Following mics will be a large diaphragm tube mic, and a solid state condenser. "The first three mics " say sE "are beautiful, the packaging will be second to none, and their performance will set new standards in the high end microphone market".

Will this new range of products be the next big hit ?
And isn't "high end" often synonymous with "high prices" ?
At least, this is a very exciting announce.

Plug-ins : Morph AudioUnit Updated to 1.0.4 - macmusicProsoniq are happy to announce the immediate availability of their PROSONIQ morph AudioUnit Plug in version 1.0.4.
This new version fixes many bugs that were present in versions 1.0.2 (initial release) and 1.0.3, such as occasional hangs during AU validation in Logic, disfunctional automation in Logic's write, latch and touch modes and a couple of other glitches.
This version also contains a FAQ document and updates the documentation and the Prosoniq Plug-in Helper and MiniHost applications to the latest versions.

It is a recommended update for all morph AudioUnits users.
