Sony Oxford Plugins will be trading under the new name of Sonnox, effective April 2007. In addition to continuing to support and promote the existing range of Oxford Plugins: EQ, Dynamics, Limiter, Inflator, Reverb and Transient Modulator, the new company will be concentrating on new innovations to expand the product line.
Sonnox also launched a full native range of Oxford plug-ins at Musikmesse last week. Compatible with Audio Units, VST and RTAS applications such as Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase, Nuendo and Pro Tools LE, the new range has been widely anticipated by users of native workstations.

IK Multimedia and Sonic Reality have also announced SampleTron which is sample based product powered by SampleTank too, but focused on "Tron" sounds. It has samples of 18 rare, vintage keyboard instruments such as Mellotrons, Optigans, Chamberlins and other related "Tron" family instruments.

IK Multimedia and Sonic Reality have announced a strategic alliance with Moog Music to bring out a sample based product focused on Moog synthesizer sounds. They have sampled the entire range of vintage Moog synthesizers to create SampleMoog, the first comprehensive collection of Moog samples available as a plugin powered by SampleTank.

PreSonus adds to its firewire interface line with the Firestudio Lightpipe. The FireStudio is the next-gen Firepod :
- 26x26 24-bit/96k interface,
- 8 XMAX class A discrete preamps,
- 16 channels of ADAT i/o,
- 8 analogue line inputs,
- 2 instruments inputs,
- S/PDIF,
- MIDI i/o,
- 2 headphones outputs,
- 36x36x18 (ooch) zero latency DSP mixer/router.
The interface use the new DICE II firewire chipset for 25 channels of 24 bit i/o. It feature too a new low jitter management JetPLL. Up to 3 FireStudio can be used at the same time. A 2GB ProPak of software, plug-ins etc. is bundled with the interface and you can even use the Monitor Station Remote thru ethernet for hands on remote.
