Waves has released its V-Series plug-ins, developed by modeling "classic British analog audio components in painstaking detail," according to the company. The V-Series consists of three components:
- the V-COMP compressor/limiter, a feedback-based stereo compressor/limiter design with de-esser. The compressor features fixed-ratio settings of 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 6:1 with a fixed attack time and adjustable recovery time, with automatic make-up gain. The limiter also has adjustable recovery time including an "auto" setting and variable threshold.
- the V-EQ4 4-band equalizer which emulates a 4-band console equalizer with HF bell/shelving switch and multiple HF center frequencies. Two midrange controls are included, both with high/low Q switching. LF includes bell/shelving switchin ...

Nov 30 - 12:42 PM | Plug-ins > Roger Nichols Digital |
Roger Nichols Digital (RND) will unveil Detailer at Winter NAMM2007, to be held at Anaheim Convention Center, January 18 thru 21. Detailer is the first RND plug-in to be developed specifically by Roger Nichols and basically it is a stereo mastering plug-in but in fact Detailer offers a new way of increasing the perception of "detail" in the mid level of a final mix while still allowing increased loudness. The process involves a combination of three-band limiting and dynamic widening using psycho-acoustic processing.
Detailer will be available in RTAS, AU and VST formats for Mac OSX (UB) , pricing to be announced.
