From MacWorld, MacMice has introduced the GuitarPlug and MicPlug USB audio converters for Apple's Logic or Garageband. Both GuitarPlug and MicPlug convert mono analog audio to 16-bit, 48KHz.

Audiofile Engineering announces that Sample Manager is updated to version 2.0.0, including AppleScript support (multple "browser" windows, now saveable as documents). Sample Manager is a full-featured batch audio processor with full support of AIFF, WAVE and Sound Designer II audio files, and partial support for ACID, Recycle, and Apple Loop files.
Sample Manager costs $69, and upgrades for registered users $19.

Steve Jobs unveil the new iPod, the iPod Shuffle, a flash based music player. Smaller than most packs of game. Weighs the same as 4 quarters (less than 1 ounce). Volume/Up dow. Simple LED to provide feedback. No display. Either shuffle or album-based playback. USB 2 transfer connector under connector at the bottom. 12-hour rechargeable battery.

Apple just launched a new mac, the Mac Mini. The new tiny member of the Mac family features a Slot-load Combo optical drive. Play DVDs, burn CDs. FireWire 400, ethernet, modem, USB 2.o, both DVI/VGA output. Height is twice the size of an iPod! You have to BYODKM (Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard, Mouse) meaning that Mac Mini will accept existing Apple keyboards and mouse as well as any other USB industry-standard peripherals.
Mac Mini costs will cost $499 and features 1.25GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 40GB Hard drive Faster processor (1.42GHz), more memory and a larger hard drive (80Go) are available for $599.
Mac Mini will ship on January 22, with panther and iLife 05 installed. Mac Mini can already be ordered on the AppleStore, currently offering shipping costs.
