Tascam has announced an affordable monitoring system for home recording and practicing. This self-powered satellite system provides 5W per channel to the desktop speakers and 15W to the ported sub. The left and right speakers use NXT technology drivers for full-range sound in a thin driver package. Created for musicians looking for an affordable speaker system that doesn't take up a lot of desk space, the VL-S21 is an excellent entry-level monitoring solution.

Metric Halo has released ChannelStrip Native for OS X. ChannelStrip Native includes Audio Units (AU), MAS, VST, and RTAS support, all in one license. With one license for ChannelStrip Native, Mac OS X users can use ChannelStrip with just about every major audio program available for Mac, including Logic 7, Cubase SX 3, Digital Performer 4.5, Nuendo 2, Pro Tools 6, Final Cut, and GarageBand, amongst others.

FXpansion have updated the VST to Audio Units adapter to version 1.5. This new version is now compatible with Logic 6.x and 7.x, Final Cut Pro 4.x, Digital Performer 4.5, Soundtrack and GarageBand, and allows VST plug-ins to pass Apple's AU Validation.

GMedia updated the Audio Units version of ImpOSCar, which is now compatible with the latest version of Apple AU Validator and with Logic 7. ImpOscar is the virtual recreation of legendary Oscar synthesiser, released in 1984 and which became a favourite instrument of Ultravox, S-express, Jean Michel Jarre and Underworld.
