440network : Soft is hard... - macmusicDear MacMusicians : you like the team spirit of the MacMusic community? You're proud to be part of our afficionados family? So help us in giving to our sections a little bit of your time and skills.

The "Soft" section, brilliantly mastered and updated by Sir Jacques Julien and Sir Altchouss, is the most visited section after the Agora, and it needs help! Our 2 brave hearts are overloaded, working 28 H/24 in a dump cellar (the only place we've got for them) without eating... suffering from tendinitis and cornea problems (already 5 emergency operations for our 2 guys), all alone in front of their monitors.

So dear Folks, don't leave them like that! We invite you to help them in adding or updating software to the database: it's easy and funny and offers you many advantages :

Music Software : Bias SoundSoap stand-alone and updated plug-in - macmusicBias, Inc. began shipping both the stand-alone edition and plug-in update of SoundSoap, a digital audio signal processing tool for the Macintosh and Windows computer platforms. SoundSoap is a professional-quality noise reduction solution that's also easy enough for average consumers to use effectively. By adjusting just two knobs, anyone can remove unwanted hiss, room noise, rumble, electrical hum, and other background noise from almost any digital media file.

Along with the release of the stand-alone version of SoundSoap, Bias has optimized the plug-in version for cleaner results. SoundSoap 1.1 stand-alone edition and version 1.0.1 of the VST plug-in for Mac OS X v.10.2, are now available as free downloadable updates to all registered users of SoundSoap 1.0. SoundSoap 1.1 stand-alone is now included with the shipping 1.0.1 version of the plug-in. Bias SoundSoap has a suggested introductory retail price of $99 US

440network : Our server is about to die ! - macmusicAs you should already noticed, since several months the MacMusic pages are more and more difficult to load and you're very often faced to the "Server Overload" page or even to the very "poetic" message "Mysql too many connection error....". Not to mention the pathetic moments when the server is not reachable because it crashed and the mornings when digest mails aren't sent anymore.

The reason is crystal clear: as expected our server can't bear anymore the increasing traffic! We should absolutely and very quickly shift to a more powerful server.

Of course this has a cost and unfortunately the very little numbers of active members doesn't allow us to pay the one-year fee needed to upgrade the server.

We only miss THIRTY more Active Members to succeed. So if you were hesitating, it's really the right time to "Activate" yourself: We won't be able to survive without your support!
