Prosoniq announces the immediate availability of the new MPEX2 library from their MPEX technology web. Version 2.2 dramatically improves performance for some quality levels, fixes compatibility problems that were reported with 96kHz files and enhances accuracy when processing very long files. The documentation was rewritten to be more comprehensive and a full-featured Mac test project has now been included with the library.

Prosoniq is taking NorthPole development one step further by coming out with a fully functional, entirely free version of NorthPole for VST X and RTAS under MacOS 9 and MacOS X.

Rogue Amoeba Software is announcing the immediate availability of Detour, a new audio utility for Mac OS X. Detour provides the ability to choose the audio output device and relative volume for all of your applications. The VST to AudioUnit Adapter is a plug-in wrapper that allows users of AudioUnit-compatible applications on the Mac OS X platform (Logic 6, Digital Performer 4 and others) to integrate OS X compatible VST plug-ins seamlessly in to their working environment.
