Geethree has released a midi driver for the MIDI serial interfaces under OSX. I tried on my G3 beige and Miracle! my MOTU MIDI Express is seen by the soft, I have only to tell which port (modem or printer) and tell the number of MIDI outs. It works great and it recognize the best interfaces of the serial market. I used Logic 5.5 on X. Go for it!

Dolby is working on getting sound from a simple PC to rival your hifi set, through two technologies.
Dolby Virtual Speaker technology (co-developed and owned by Lake Technology Ltd.) simulates a highly realistic 5.1-speaker surround sound listening environment from as few as two speakers. This is already available with the CyberLink and InterVideo DVD drives. Note that it only works for one listener sitting between 2 speakers.
Audigy 2 from Creative is thus the first card capable of reproducing the multi-channel sound of DVDs under Windows, in 24 bit / 192kHz, if the DVD allows. The card is labelled THX, and can use any DVD drive to decode the DVD-Audio.
