Bias, Inc. began shipping both the stand-alone edition and plug-in update of SoundSoap, a digital audio signal processing tool for the Macintosh and Windows computer platforms. SoundSoap is a professional-quality noise reduction solution that's also easy enough for average consumers to use effectively. By adjusting just two knobs, anyone can remove unwanted hiss, room noise, rumble, electrical hum, and other background noise from almost any digital media file.
Along with the release of the stand-alone version of SoundSoap, Bias has optimized the plug-in version for cleaner results. SoundSoap 1.1 stand-alone edition and version 1.0.1 of the VST plug-in for Mac OS X v.10.2, are now available as free downloadable updates to all registered users of SoundSoap 1.0. SoundSoap 1.1 stand-alone is now included with the shipping 1.0.1 version of the plug-in. Bias SoundSoap has a suggested introductory retail price of $99 US

As you should already noticed, since several months the MacMusic pages are more and more difficult to load and you're very often faced to the "Server Overload" page or even to the very "poetic" message "Mysql too many connection error....". Not to mention the pathetic moments when the server is not reachable because it crashed and the mornings when digest mails aren't sent anymore.
The reason is crystal clear: as expected our server can't bear anymore the increasing traffic! We should absolutely and very quickly shift to a more powerful server.
Of course this has a cost and unfortunately the very little numbers of active members doesn't allow us to pay the one-year fee needed to upgrade the server.
We only miss THIRTY more Active Members to succeed. So if you were hesitating, it's really the right time to "Activate" yourself: We won't be able to survive without your support!

Moog Music ence Dr Moog himself just announced the Piano Bar. This MIDI controller was in developement in the laboratory of Don Buchla (hmm a lot of big names in this news) for some time, was shown at last Winter NAMM to some happy few.
The Piano Bar is a MIDI system extracting thru infrared sensors the data out a common keyboard, you have a piano, you have a controller! It's being redesign for the better (smaller, smarter, better) at Moog Music and will be presented in July at the next summer NAMM show.

As we predicted 3 month ago ;-), Digidesign released a firewire audio interface, based on the Digi002 features, without the control surface. This 2U rack interface is compatible only with MacOS 10.2.5 (and up) and provides 18 channels of I/O and 2 MIDI out ports. Protools LE v6 is obviously included with Digi002 Rack.
