440network : Browse with Safari on MacMusic - macmusicIf you use Safari (Apple's new web browser) you'll find that a problem occurs if you clic on a link for an outside MacMusic site. The error is coming from Safari and we hope that Apple will correct the bug shortly.

Computer Hardware : MIDI serial interfaces under OSX - macmusicGeethree has released a midi driver for the MIDI serial interfaces under OSX. I tried on my G3 beige and Miracle! my MOTU MIDI Express is seen by the soft, I have only to tell which port (modem or printer) and tell the number of MIDI outs. It works great and it recognize the best interfaces of the serial market. I used Logic 5.5 on X. Go for it!

440network : Forums Update - macmusicThe 8th, the software hosting the forums has been updated with some new functionnalities.
A new feature allows to be automatically notified by email when you create or answer a thread (email preferences). Note that the option is checked by default so you'll have to uncheck it if you don't want to be automatically subscribed to the threads you participate to. You can also unsubscibe to threads you are already affiliated in the "your topic subscriptions" page.

Dolby Virtual Speaker technology (co-developed and owned by Lake Technology Ltd.) simulates a highly realistic 5.1-speaker surround sound listening environment from as few as two speakers. This is already available with the CyberLink and InterVideo DVD drives. Note that it only works for one listener sitting between 2 speakers.
Audigy 2 from Creative is thus the first card capable of reproducing the multi-channel sound of DVDs under Windows, in 24 bit / 192kHz, if the DVD allows. The card is labelled THX, and can use any DVD drive to decode the DVD-Audio.
