Oct 28 - 12:23 PM | Computer Hardware > Metric Halo |
Metric Halo was at SATIS 'hiding' the Mobile I/O ULN2, a new Firewire interface featuring 2 analogue ins, microphone preamplification, 48 V, 3 outs (monitor, program and headphones), 2 inserts and providing all digital formats (AES, SPDIF, ADAT), plus a World Clock I/O.
The interface works with a 96 KHz sample rate and can store up to 9 "settings" memories (Eq, gain level, Ins...). It should cost around 1200€ and be out for next January.

Apogee has recently released the Mini-Me, stereo USB mic/inst pre-amp. It's low-latency USB interface carries two channels of audio at up to 24-bits and 48 kHz sampling (possibly support for 96kHz in the future), from the Mini-Me to the computer and back again for monitoring.
FEATURES
- Two channels of 24-bit, 96 kHz A/D conversion;
- 2-ch mic/instrument preamps and line-level in;
- Plug-and-play low-latency USB I/O;
- ASIO drivers for OS9x, OS10x and Windows;
- AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital outputs
- Headphone output with Level and Direct/USB Return Mix knobs;
- Multi-curve comp/limiter;
- 24 bit output, plus UV22HR technology for high quality dithering to 16 or 20 bit output;
- Independent left and right channel level controls plus presets
- Compact, low power (possibility of battery power), ideal for field use;
1865 €

MOTU, Inc. (www.motu.com) announced the 24i/o, a single rack-space 96 kHz audio interface for Macintosh computers. The 24i/o provides 24 balanced quarter-inch (TRS) 96 kHz analog inputs and outputs in a single rack-space enclosure. A 24i/o core system ($1,495) includes MOTU's next generation PCI-424 card, which provides expansion up to 96 inputs/outputs, DSP–driven mixing and monitoring, legacy I/O support, and on-board SMPTE synchronization. The 24i/o rack interface, which will also be sold separately as an expansion I/O ($1,195) for any MOTU PCI-424 system (such as MOTU's new 2408mk3), provides 5-segment front-panel meters for every input and output and software-switchable (-10/+4) analog input levels.
