Virtual Instrument : VirSyn updates Tera to v3.1.0 - macmusicVirSyn has updated its modular synth Tera to version 3.1.0. It now features : Quality setting for sampler module (very fast standard / slow high quality), Stereo sample files now possible, Enhanced randomizer function, Stereo phaser/flanger option, Polyphonic unison function with random sample variation, Fractal random presets for spectrum oscillator and custom oscillator, Improved step sequencer layout, and several bugs fixed. VirSyn TERA is a modular software synthesizer based on five different synthesis technologies including the the "Spectrum synthesis". This new synthesis allows the creation and manipulation of resonant bodies with up to 128 formant frequencies.

Registered Users of TERA 3 will get the notification and download details automatically, and demo version is also available.

Virtual Instrument : A-Kit drum plugins - macmusicA-kit is a set of 7 plugins (plus a registration plugin). These are VST, RTAS et AU compatible. They need 44,1 kHz sessions. These modules, drived by MIDI tracks, produce the sounds of a drum set. They react on velocitys and "attack's location on the instrument" instructions. This collection contains : Kick, Snare, HiHat, Crash, Ride, Hi Tom and Lo Tom.

The pack is available for $20 or 15€ and a demo version is available.

Plug-ins : TG12413 Limiter v1.0.1 - macmusicChandler Limited and EMI/Abbey Road Studios announce version 1.0.1 of the EMI TG 12413 Limiter plug-in for Pro Tools. This version resolves instability some TDM users reported under 1.0, and is recommended for all TDM users. There are no changes to the LE version of the plug-in. Please note this is a free upgrade. To update a plug-in to version 1.0.1, download the demo version of the plug-in and drop the dpm file into your plug-in folder. This will not affect any authorizations.

The EMI TG 12413 demos have also been updated to version 1.0.1.

Music Software : NSlam 2.0 & new xjimmies - macmusicNSLAM is an open-source audio suite for multi-channel audio application development, developed by the SAT Audio Group. It is written for the PD (Pure Data, by M. Puckette) environment and includes a library of low-level DSP objects called "xjimmies" (most of which, has been also ported to Max/MSP), online help, and example applications for multi-channel audio streaming and immersive audio, among others. The "xjimmies" library included with nSLAM v2.0 offers new functionality not defined in the original "jimmies" (IRCAM 1994) running under Max/MSP. Specifically, a number of new objects have been added for working with multichannel sound, sound source simulation and immersive audio.
