MOTU, Inc. (www.motu.com) announced the 24i/o, a single rack-space 96 kHz audio interface for Macintosh computers. The 24i/o provides 24 balanced quarter-inch (TRS) 96 kHz analog inputs and outputs in a single rack-space enclosure. A 24i/o core system ($1,495) includes MOTU's next generation PCI-424 card, which provides expansion up to 96 inputs/outputs, DSP–driven mixing and monitoring, legacy I/O support, and on-board SMPTE synchronization. The 24i/o rack interface, which will also be sold separately as an expansion I/O ($1,195) for any MOTU PCI-424 system (such as MOTU's new 2408mk3), provides 5-segment front-panel meters for every input and output and software-switchable (-10/+4) analog input levels.

In honor of its historic C 414 EB microphone, AKG Acoustics is introducing its new C 414 B-ULS/SE Special Edition Stereo Set with a classic nickel finish. The microphone's finish resembles the silver outer housing of the original C 414 EB that was produced between 1976 and 1986. Under the retro exterior, however, the C 414B-ULS/SE sports the latest in AKG engineering. The computer-matched stereo set consists of two C 414B-ULS large-diaphragm, multi-pattern, stereo condenser microphones.

The three new Phrazerized loop titles from Bitheadz are based on the collection from Smart Loops released earlier this year. The libraries are: Electric Guitar Loops, Bass Guitars Loops, and Drum & Percussion Loops.

Phrazer Smart Loops Electric Guitars contains over 950 loops, which range from Clean and Wah Pedal to Heavy Distortion. The Drum & Percussion title has 670 "phrazerized" loops with instruments including Drum Kits, Congas, Bongos, Triangles, Wood Blocks and many more. Phrazer Bass Guitars provides users with four different playing styles in the 950 loops.
