The Power Mac G4 Firmware Update 2.4 fixes a startup issue with some third-party memory modules and a problem recognizing when more than one gigabyte of memory is installed. Apple system update: patch MacOS 8.5 system into version 8.6.

Version 1.8 provides a fix for the Don Johnston Macintosh Switch Interface and has fixes for AppleVision displays and Apple adjustable keyboards. It also has a fix for CAPS LOCK LEDs on USB keyboards which would sometimes not toggle with the iMate driver installed. It also has a fix for ADB Reinits with Kensington devices which may improve reliability of these devices.
